Summary: “Angel View Children’s Outreach was created to help meet the unmet needs of local families who are raising children with disabilities. This year, much of their efforts are being spent dealing with the impacts of COVID-19. In fiscal year 2020-21, we anticipate helping a minimum of 400 low income families raising children with disabilities. The families are primarily Hispanic residents of the East Valley. Our case managers will help relieve COVID-19 related stressors in the following ways:
1) Continuity of medical care. Our case managers translate, assist with technology and appointment scheduling so care is uninterrupted. When in-person appointments are necessary, to relieve the financial burden, we reimburse families for out-of-town medical travel. We track the number of children receiving mileage reimbursement, the number of miles awarded, and total value.
2) Case management. We help families to complete benefits forms (including unemployment) and provide case management such as IEP advocacy and support, ABA therapy, exercise and activity plans appropriate to the kids’ diagnoses. Our case managers track each clients’ progress toward mutually agreed upon goals, as well as kids’ age, diagnoses, ethnicity and family income. The Outreach program is funded 100% by philanthropy. COVID-19 has impacted our funding as much as it has impacted our clients. Several grants we depend on were canceled this year; we are still absorbing losses from the mandatory closures of our resale stores last March-June, and are experiencing reduced shopping because of the pandemic. Also due to the virus, we have canceled our annual fundraiser. Every dollar counts. Support from the Regional Access Project mini-grant program would be very helpful!”

Representative: Catherine Rips, Grants Director                                       Interview Time: 1:35 PM                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                      VII. Sponsorship Request                                                                                                                                               (Attach #4)

Organization: Desert Sands Unified School District Educational Foundation                                                        Event: CAMFest Goes On!                                                   Request:   $2,500

Summary: “The $2,500 requested from the RAP Foundation will boost visibility of the event and its sponsors on all social media/media platforms before and during the week-long event. While production costs for the virtual event are far less than the on-location festival, revenue expectations and growth in the capacity for the Education Foundation remain equally high. The goal is to increase sponsorships and garner wide-reaching donations so the art, music, dance, theatre, photography and videography programs showcased will more than survive the crisis, they will thrive!”

Multiple years approved for Sponsorships No interview with applicant. Per policy no interview for applicant who has been  approved for a Sponsorship two consecutive years. Previous year $1,800 approved.  In 2018, $1,000 approved.
